Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about mobile chiropractic care, Dr. Hamilton's services, and what to expect from your first appointment.
About Mobile Chiropractic
A mobile chiropractor is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic who travels to your location — home, office, gym, or hotel — rather than requiring you to visit a clinic. Dr. Hamilton arrives with a fully equipped portable clinic including a professional adjustment table, soft tissue therapy tools, and rehabilitation equipment. The quality of care is identical to a traditional chiropractic office, with the added benefit of convenience and personalized attention in your own environment.
Sciatica — pain that radiates from the lower back down through the leg — is one of the most common conditions treated by Dr. Hamilton. Mobile chiropractic care addresses sciatica by identifying the root cause of sciatic nerve compression, whether from a disc herniation, piriformis syndrome, or lumbar subluxation. Dr. Hamilton uses spinal adjustments, myofascial release, and targeted rehabilitation exercises to decompress the nerve, reduce inflammation, and restore proper movement patterns — all at your location.
Yes — and in many ways more effective. Dr. Hamilton brings the same clinical tools and expertise as a traditional chiropractic office. Research shows that patient outcomes improve when treatment is consistent and convenient. By eliminating the barrier of travel, mobile chiropractic care makes it easier to maintain your treatment schedule, which directly improves recovery speed and long-term results.

Dr. Hamilton is available 7am to 9pm, 365 days a year — including weekends and holidays. We understand that pain doesn't follow a 9-to-5 schedule, and neither do we.
Conditions & Treatment
Absolutely. Cervical (neck) chiropractic adjustments are among the most well-researched treatments for mechanical neck pain and tension headaches. Dr. Hamilton evaluates the cervical spine for misalignments, muscle tension, and restricted joint motion — then applies targeted adjustments and soft tissue therapies to restore normal function, reduce nerve irritation, and alleviate headache patterns including tension headaches and cervicogenic headaches.
Lower back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, and chiropractic care is one of the most effective evidence-based treatments. Dr. Hamilton addresses lumbar subluxations, disc irritation, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and muscle imbalances through a combination of spinal adjustments, myofascial release, and rehabilitation exercises. Most patients experience significant improvement within 4–6 visits.
Yes. Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction often has a musculoskeletal component that responds well to chiropractic care. Dr. Hamilton evaluates jaw alignment, cervical spine mechanics, and muscle tension patterns to identify contributing factors. Treatment may include cervical adjustments, myofascial release of the jaw and neck muscles, and rehabilitative exercises to restore proper jaw function and reduce clicking, locking, and pain.
Yes. Shoulder pain — including rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement, and frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) — often involves both the shoulder joint and the cervical/thoracic spine. Dr. Hamilton performs a comprehensive shoulder and spine assessment, then uses a combination of shoulder joint mobilization, spinal adjustments, IASTM, and therapeutic ultrasound to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and accelerate healing.
Yes, chiropractic care is safe and effective for older adults when performed by a qualified practitioner. Dr. Hamilton is trained in gentle techniques — including the Activator method and soft tissue therapies — that are particularly well-suited for seniors. He performs a thorough health history and physical assessment before any treatment to ensure the safest and most appropriate approach for each individual patient.
Absolutely. Dr. Hamilton's background in emergency medicine and rehabilitation makes him well-equipped to treat acute and chronic sports injuries. Common conditions include ankle sprains, IT band syndrome, tennis elbow, shoulder impingement, and muscle strains. Treatment combines chiropractic adjustments, IASTM, cupping, cold laser therapy, and Kinesiology taping to accelerate healing and return you to full activity.
Booking & Appointments
Call or text Dr. Hamilton directly at (619) 323-5020, or fill out the contact form on our website. Dr. Hamilton is available 7am to 9pm daily, and most new patients can be seen within 24–48 hours. Existing patients can access the Patient Portal via the link in the navigation menu.
Your first visit begins with a comprehensive health history and physical examination, including postural analysis, orthopedic testing, and neurological assessment. Dr. Hamilton will explain his findings, discuss your treatment options, and — if appropriate — begin treatment at the same visit. Most first appointments take 60–75 minutes. Subsequent visits are typically 30–45 minutes.
Please contact our office directly to discuss insurance options. Many patients use health savings accounts (HSA) or flexible spending accounts (FSA) for chiropractic care. We are happy to provide documentation for insurance reimbursement claims.
The number of visits depends on your condition, its severity, and your health goals. Acute conditions often respond within 4–8 visits. Chronic conditions may require a longer course of care. Dr. Hamilton will provide a clear treatment plan with realistic expectations at your first visit, and will regularly reassess your progress to ensure you're getting the results you need.
Soft Tissue & Specialized Therapies
Myofascial release (MFR) is a hands-on technique that applies sustained, gentle pressure to the myofascial connective tissue to eliminate pain and restore motion. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and connects every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in the body. When fascia becomes restricted due to injury, inflammation, or poor posture, it can create widespread pain and movement limitations. MFR releases these restrictions to restore normal tissue mobility.
Cold laser therapy (Low-Level Laser Therapy or LLLT) uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular repair processes, reduce inflammation, and accelerate tissue healing. It is completely painless and non-invasive. Clinical research supports its use for conditions including tendinopathy, arthritis, nerve pain, and wound healing. Dr. Hamilton uses cold laser as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for many soft tissue and joint conditions.
Cupping therapy uses negative pressure (suction) cups placed on the skin to lift and separate tissue layers, increase blood flow, and release deep muscle tension. It is particularly effective for chronic muscle tightness, trigger points, and areas of restricted fascia. The temporary circular marks left by cupping are not bruises — they are a result of increased blood flow to the area and typically fade within a few days.
Kinesiology (KT) taping uses a specialized elastic tape applied to the skin to provide structural support to muscles and joints without restricting range of motion. It can reduce swelling by lifting the skin and improving lymphatic drainage, support weakened muscles, and improve proprioception (body position awareness). Dr. Hamilton uses KT taping to support recovery between visits and allow patients to remain active during rehabilitation.
